Why Media Literacy?

“Media Literacy [is the] use of critical thinking to parse or create mass media, especially as a consumer in an age of online misinformation or disinformation.” – Britannica

In today’s world, media is used to communicate with the public. While much of the content posted online is factually reliable, deception has become increasingly commonplace in the media landscape. This is exactly why media literacy is so vital.

Learn

Different deceptive techniques are used by bad actors to either earn money or elicit responses from those being deceived. Learning how to spot these different techniques is essential, as they are always changing.
