We are students at California State University, Fresno, enrolled in Honors 102 (Global Social Issues). Our goal is to create a central digital location for media literacy information in our city.
This project is the culmination of research on different social issues faced by individuals in the United States.
As we performed literature review and conducted interviews, we found that media literacy is a large issue nationwide and globally. From the abundance of scams to the emergence of disinformation generated by Artificial Intelligence, those who lack media literacy are specifically targeted.
It will become increasingly harder to detect real information from fake information. This is exactly why we created this website: to educate our community in Fresno about media literacy, to give tools to spot deception, and to connect individuals to local media literacy resources.
